I am a Senior Clinical Psychologist with 15 years experience supporting people to feel emotionally well and to find meaning in their lives. I am currently providing therapy in person or online. I understand that each person has their own story, challanges, values and goals. I work hard to understand each person's unique story and to use my therepeutic skills and tools to support each person to reach their goals.
While working as a Clinical Psychologist over the last 15 years, I have continued to develop my therapeutic skills and knowledge. I have undertaken further specialist trainings in Infant Mental Health; Acceptance & Commitment Therapy; Dialectical Behaviour Therapy; Compassion Focused Therapy for trauma; Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction; Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy; and I am an accredited EMDR therapist with the EMDR All Ireland Association. I have significant experience working with anxiety, depression and trauma. I have specialist experience in working with parents experiencing anxiety or depression during pregnancy and postnatal periods, issues related to parent-infant bonding and birth trauma. I also have specialist experience working with people experiencing persistent pain, chronic physical illness and issues related to medical trauma.
All sessions last 60 minutes. In our first 1 to 2 sessions, I will strive to develop a broad understanding of you, your strengths, your challenges and what you hope to achieve through our work together. By the 3rd session, I aim to present to you a therapeutic plan of how we could work together to achieve your goals. With your agreement, we will develop a therapeutic plan and agree a number of sessions. As our work continues, we will continually review our work together. I will always value your feedback on what's working well and what might need some change. It is my experience that the best outcomes come from working together on agreed goals that are meaningful to you.
