About Me

Origionally with a nursing background I have work with the health service specialising as a behaviour therapist and cognitive behaviour therapist for people with an intellectual disability, autims and aspergers for the past 20 years. Additionally, I have been working as a behavioural cognitive therapist in a private capacity for the past 10 years. I have specialised in therapeutic intervention for anxiety disorders. I have a Higher Diploma and Masters degree in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy from the UCC. As I work full-time with the health service I am generally available in the evenings

Approach

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people's difficulties, and so change the way they feel.
